Fluid-applied flake flooring with striping in a fire station apparatus bay
DIVISION 09 · SECTION 09 67 00 · FLUID-APPLIED FLOORING

Fluid-applied flooring, bid-ready.

If your spec book says Fluid-Applied Flooring, Resinous Flooring or Liquid-Applied Flooring, that is what we install. Send the section and drawings; you get a line-item proposal with prep scope, system build, schedule and submittals - from the owners, not an estimator.

WHAT WE INSTALL

Spec sections we bid and self-perform

One crew, one point of contact, from surface prep through topcoat. Where a spec splits the floor across Divisions 03 and 09, we carry both so there is no gap between the concrete trade and the coating trade.

09 67 23Resinous Flooring

Epoxy, polyaspartic and urethane systems

100% solids epoxy bodies with urethane or polyaspartic wear coats; full-broadcast flake, solid color and metallic finishes; urethane mortar for thermal shock and hot wash-down; ESD / static-dissipative systems; integral cove base to the height the section calls for.

09 67 26Quartz Flooring

Double-broadcast quartz

Slip-rated, seamless quartz broadcast floors for commercial kitchens, locker rooms, kennels, restrooms and wash-down areas. Often written into 09 67 23 as a quartz-broadcast resinous system; we bid it either way.

03 35 43Polished Concrete Finishing

Densified, honed and burnished

Mechanically polished concrete to the aggregate exposure class and gloss level in the section, with densifier and stain guard. Our own planetary grinders and dust extraction.

09 05 61.13Moisture Vapor Emission Control

Moisture mitigation under the coating

Moisture vapor barrier primers rated to 24 lbs per 1,000 sq ft per 24 hours, where ordinary coatings alone tolerate about 3 lbs. Specified when ASTM F2170 or F1869 readings exceed the system limit, which on Northwest slabs is most of the time. Read our moisture vapor barrier guide.

03 01 30.71Rehabilitation of Cast-in-Place Concrete

Crack, spall and joint repair

Routed and filled cracks, spall patching with rigid repair mortars, control joint fill and surface prep by PCD grinding or shot blast to CSP 1-5 per ICRI 310.2R. See grinding packages and concrete repair.

07 18 13Pedestrian Traffic Coatings

Exterior decks, walkways and stairs

Slip-resistant texture deck coatings and UV-stable polyaspartic systems for exterior walkways, balconies, patios and entries. Grit broadcast blended to the slip requirement in the section.

Section numbers follow CSI MasterFormat. If your project uses an older numbering or an owner master spec, send it as written and we will map it.

HOW WE BID

From spec section to signed proposal

Five steps, no surprises on site. Most of the risk in a resinous floor is in the substrate, so we price the prep from readings, not from assumptions.

Spec review

We read the full section: approved manufacturers, performance requirements, mil thickness, slip and cove details. Conflicts, substitution requests and missing details go back to you in writing before bid day, not after award.

Substrate readings

Site visit with moisture testing (ASTM F2170 in-situ RH, ASTM F1869 calcium chloride), surface pH and existing coating assessment. Pull-off adhesion testing per ASTM D7234 when the section requires it.

Line-item proposal

Priced by area with prep scope, repair allowances, system build by coat, alternates where they save you money, and a phasing plan around your operation or construction schedule. Exclusions stated plainly.

Submittals

Manufacturer product data and SDS for every component, color and flake or quartz samples, mock-up panels on request, certificate of insurance, and warranty terms. Assembled as one package for your submittal log.

Install and closeout

One crew start to finish, daily reporting on request, and a closeout package: system letter with products and thicknesses installed, maintenance instructions and our lifetime workmanship warranty alongside the manufacturer material warranty.

STANDARDS WE WORK TO

The references your section cites

Testing and performance references commonly called out in 09 67 00 and related sections, and what each means on our end of the job.

ASTM F2170In-situ relative humidity probes in the slab. The moisture number that decides whether 09 05 61.13 mitigation is required.
ASTM F1869Anhydrous calcium chloride moisture vapor emission rate, reported in lbs per 1,000 sq ft per 24 hours.
ICRI 310.2RConcrete surface profile. We prep to the CSP the system requires, typically CSP 2-3 for thin coatings and CSP 4-5 for mortars and overlays.
ASTM D7234Pull-off adhesion of coatings on concrete. Used on existing coatings and for verification testing when specified.
ANSI A326.3Dynamic coefficient of friction. Slip resistance is set by topcoat selection and grit or quartz broadcast, matched to the section's DCOF requirement.
ASTM D4060 / D695 / D2240Taber abrasion, compressive strength and Shore hardness - the product performance values reported on the manufacturer data sheets we submit.
ASTM C579Compressive strength of chemical-resistant mortars, the reference for urethane mortar (urethane cement) systems.
ANSI/ESD S7.1 and ASTM F150Resistance testing for static-dissipative and conductive floors, verified with meter readings after cure under an ANSI/ESD S20.20 program.
Manufacturer TDS cure dataRecoat and return-to-service windows by coat at site temperature, so your schedule is built on cure times, not guesses.
